Jaguar F-Type 2013

Back to it’s roots

The British brand launches its new model Jaguar F-Type. Named the winner of the “World Design Car of the Year 2013” during the last New York Auto Show. It deserved such honor not only for its exterior aesthetics, but also due to its inside detail, elegance and luxury.

This two seat convertible recovers the sports roots of the brand. The aluminum body is inspired by the prototype C-X16, which emulates the sensations produced by driving it.

It will be launched in three engine options: The 340, the 380 and the 495 horsepower. The hybrid coupe Jaguar F-Type opts for a classic sporty two-seater configuration, with front engine and rear wheel drive, in addition to some new technology which makes it more fun to drive providing enhanced handling.

In the mechanical area, this model delivers innovative advances as the next-generation supercharged V6 engine. The models range from the F-Type, equipped with 3.0 V6 engine with a 340 hp compressor, which reaches 100 km / h in 5.3 seconds and has a top speed limited-to-260 km / h., to the F-Type S, which is equipped with the same V6 engine, only the power is increased to 380 HP, which reduces acceleration time to one tenth of 5.3 seconds needed to reach 100 km / h, and reaches a maximum of 275 km / h. The top of the range is the dynamic F-Type V8 S, equipped with the advanced performance of the 5.0L V8, and with it’s 495 horses will reach 300 km / h.

The three versions feature automatic 8-speed Quickshift, with steering wheel paddles, adapt to the driver’s driving style. The two most powerful variables include the Launch Control and a sports exhaust system or Adaptive Dynamics System, which adjusts the suspension up to 500 times per second to improve performance.

The interior, created with the driver in mind, can be adjusted to his preferences. The design was inspired by combat aircraft cabins, shown in  details like the air vents, the instruments and the gear selector. The newly designed steering wheel is made with high quality materials in harmonic two-tone contrast reflecting excellence.
