Inspired by a 6,225-carat rough emerald mined in Zambia, this collection is an odyssey of traceability, daring design and master craftsmanship.

Chopard once again pushes the boundaries of high jewelry with the presentation of the Insofu Collection, a testament to the encounter between the majesty of nature, boundless creativity and sustainable responsibility.

The story began in 2022, when Caroline Scheufele, Co-President and Artistic Director of Chopard, presented this colossal emerald, christened "Insofu" in honor of its shape and size, reminiscent of an elephant. Its beauty and exceptional character made it the centerpiece of an unprecedented jewelry collection.

The process of cutting Insofu required nearly a year of meticulous work by India's finest lapidaries, who patiently and skillfully revealed its true potential. Ultimately, the emerald was cut into stones totaling approximately 850 carats, each with unparalleled brilliance and depth of color.

The first chapter of this collection debuted with a necklace, a pair of earrings and a ring presented during last year's Oscar week. Now, Chopard unveils an expansion of this collection with 15 exceptional creations: five pairs of earrings, five necklaces, three rings, a bracelet and a jewel watch.

One of the most emblematic pieces is an elephant-shaped pendant designed as a direct tribute to Insofu. Framed by diamonds, emeralds in different shapes and sizes compose the majestic silhouette of the animal, whose raised trunk symbolizes prosperity and good fortune.

The collection also includes Art Deco-inspired chokers, long necklaces that evoke the elegance of the 1920s, eye-catching cocktail rings, and a floral bracelet that pays homage to nature.

The luxurious expression of this collection is also reflected in its literary inspiration. The eccentricity of the era captured in Francis Scott Fitzgerald's The Great Gatsby is translated into designs that mix pearls, emeralds, pink sapphires and diamonds in versatile compositions that can be worn in a variety of ways.

Positive impact and conservation

Working with Gemfields, the mining company responsible for the extraction of Insofu at the Kagem mine, ensures that a portion of the profits generated by the collection is reinvested in social and conservation projects in Zambia. These efforts include the protection of local flora and fauna, education and community development.

In a move that goes beyond aesthetic inspiration, Caroline Scheufele has also linked the Insofu Collection to the Elephant Family, an organization dedicated to the protection of elephants and the preservation of their habitat.
