The Japanese architect collaborated with Cauny on a minimalist watch inspired by a green apple.

With clean aesthetics, refined forms, and an unexpected poetic touch, Ando has presented his first watch, the Cauny Ando. This piece bears his hallmark geometric minimalism and reverence for light, now applied to the intimate scale of watchmaking.

This collaboration is with Cauny, a historic Swiss brand revitalized under Portuguese management. Cauny has assembled a collection of Pritzker Prize laureates called The Architects of Time.

This line already includes names like Álvaro Siza and Rafael Moneo. With this edition, Tadao Ando joins with a surprising proposal in form and concept.

Drawing inspiration from a green apple, Ando presents two versions of the watch: one with a vibrant green dial that literally translates the metaphor and one in brushed steel that refers to his favorite materials, such as concrete and steel.

Both watches have a round case without lugs that resembles a polished pebble. They are available in 37.5 mm and 31.5 mm sizes and feature a domed sapphire crystal and Swiss quartz movement.

The most subtle and evocative detail is the minute hand, which is inspired by an apple tree leaf. The black leather strap or metal bracelet complements its low profile.

Experts agree that the Cauny Ando is more than an accessory; it is an extension of the architect's thinking, an exercise in essential form, balance, and meaning.
