From the workshops of Chopard Manufacture comes the new L.U.C Grand Strike, a masterpiece of mechanical watchmaking developed entirely in-house by the Swiss watchmaker.

Featuring *grande sonnerie* and *petite sonnerie* functions, as well as a minute repeater with proprietary sapphire crystal gongs, this timepiece represents the culmination of the Maison’s mechanical expertise and a decades-long journey into the world of chiming watches initiated by Karl-Friedrich Scheufele, Co-President of Chopard.

The result of over 11,000 hours of intensive research and development, the L.U.C Grand Strike relies on ten proprietary technical patents—five of which were developed specifically for this watch—making it the most complex timepiece ever created by Chopard Manufacture. Its performance is guaranteed by a series of rigorous in-house tests as well as certifications from bodies such as the Poinçon de Genève (Geneva Seal) and the Swiss Official Chronometer Testing Institute (COSC). With these certifications, the L.U.C Grand Strike officially stands as the most comprehensive *grande sonnerie* watch in the realm of contemporary high complications.

The watch’s design blends traditional shapes with modern aesthetics, combining understated curves with a dial-free display that showcases the L.U.C 08.03-L calibre, composed of 686 components.

The L.U.C Grand Strike draws upon Chopard Manufacture’s nearly 20 years of experience with chiming watches and a decade of sapphire monoblock technology; comprising 686 movement components, it is the most complex timepiece ever created in the Manufacture's history. More than 11,000 hours have been invested in this project, spanning everything from initial preliminary studies to the creation of technical blueprints and the production of a functional prototype. Over 2,500 of those hours were dedicated to fine-tuning the prototype to ensure that the final production pieces achieved the pinnacle of micromechanical perfection.

Housed in a 43mm-diameter case made of 18-carat ethical white gold, the design’s curves and profile draw the eye directly to the high-precision L.U.C 08.03-L calibre, fully visible thanks to the open dial. At 10 o'clock, two polished steel hammers clearly signal the watch's chiming nature; it can be set to three chiming modes—Grand Sonnerie (G), Petite Sonnerie (P), and Silence (S)—via an ergonomically designed slide selector located next to the winding and setting crown.

The lower half of the dial features a 60-second tourbillon, a visual testament to the performance of the COSC-certified movement. Between the continuous rotation of the tourbillon and the movement of the chiming mechanism, every glance at the L.U.C Grand Strike immerses the wearer in the wonder of mechanics.

Available interchangeable straps come in hand-stitched grey alligator leather or dark blue calfskin. The folding clasp is crafted from polished and satin-brushed 18-carat ethical white gold and engraved with the L.U.C logo.
