To mark the centenary of the Panerai boutique in Florence’s Piazza San Giovanni, the Maison launched the new Luminor Firenze 8 Giorni PAM01734 and Luminor Firenze 8 Giorni PAM01794.

Both models celebrate the brand's military origins as well as its Florentine roots. The PAM01734 features a 44mm Platinumtech case offering water resistance to 10 bar (100 meters), while the PAM01794 features a steel case water-resistant to 30 bar (300 meters). Both models are equipped with the in-house P.5000 caliber, which offers an eight-day power reserve.

These unique, historically inspired models incorporate two distinctive elements revived for these new creations: the inscription positioned at 12 o'clock—visible on both references—and a characteristic crown-protecting bridge featuring parallel grooves carved into the inner surfaces facing the crown, a detail retained in the Luminor Firenze 8 Giorni PAM01734.

The Luminor Firenze 8 Giorni PAM01734 and PAM01794 models adapt the 47mm case of the unique 6152/1 prototype to a more versatile 44mm size while preserving its distinctive geometry: a case middle with the authentic cushion shape, a flat crown-protecting bridge, and a contrast between polished and brushed surfaces. The result preserves the structural integrity and proportions of Panerai’s historic design language, adapting them to a refined size suitable for contemporary wear. These watches are equipped with the robust, hand-wound, in-house P.5000 caliber, which offers an impressive eight-day power reserve.

The PAM01794 model features a steel case, while the PAM01734 is crafted from exclusive Platinumtech.

This special patented alloy—composed of 95% pure platinum—offers 85% greater hardness than conventional platinum thanks to a distinctive treatment process, underscoring Panerai’s commitment to robustness and scratch resistance, even when using precious materials.

In addition to offering superior scratch resistance compared to standard platinum, this material weighs approximately 33% more than 18-karat gold, lending the new watch a notable sense of substance. For the first time, the crown-protecting bridge incorporates parallel grooves carved into the inner surfaces facing the crown.

Both new models are finished with a domed, slightly curved sapphire crystal—a design choice that evokes the visual effect of the Perspex used in Luminor watches from the 1960s.

To further enhance their vintage inspiration and deep connection to Florence, the watches feature a Tuscan calfskin strap with a heat-embossed motif depicting the iconic Florentine fleur-de-lis . The black leather strap of the PAM01734 is complemented by a second strap in green rubber, while the brown leather strap of the PAM01794 is paired with a second strap in black rubber, offering a versatile, adventure-ready alternative.
