Independent watchmaker Cédric Johner was contacted by Van Cleef & Arpels to create a watch for the charity auction, putting his artisanal excellence at the service of a noble cause.
Created exclusively for the charity Watches for ELA, the Abyss model is a unique timepiece that combines craftsmanship, distinctive design, and a commitment to charity.
Entirely handcrafted in Johner's workshop in Carouge, Switzerland, its 39mm case reveals a hand-lacquered and polished black dial housing a Tavannes mechanical movement, whose rose gold bridges are hand-engraved with motifs evoking neural networks.
Produced without CNC machinery or computer-aided design: a unique creation, handcrafted down to the last detail, the chronometer will be auctioned at Christie's Geneva on November 9, with the proceeds going to leukodystrophies research. Furthermore, Cédric Johner will participate in IAMWATCH in Singapore, an unmissable event dedicated to independent watchmaking, organized by The Hour Glass from November 12th to 15th.
This event brings together 45 designers and leading figures who bring contemporary watchmaking culture to life. IAMWATCH is a true celebration of craftsmanship, creativity, and human connection, offering enthusiasts and collectors a unique opportunity to interact directly with those who conceive and craft the watches.
