Mercedes-Benz presented its new electric vehicle at the Shanghai Motor Show, days before it opens to the public.
The EQB SUV is a car that interprets progressive luxury, versatile with good transport capacity, considering that it has seven seats. According to the brand, among its main features and linking it to the first electric compact, the EQA, is its intelligent recovery and predictive navigation through its Electric Intelligence.
It is also highly equipped with features such as the latest MBUX system, a large touch screen, ambient lighting and safety provisions, including lane keeping assistance, braking, turning maneuver, among others.
It has a gloss black closed grille with the Mercedes-Benz logo in the middle. The grille is flanked by full LED headlights with daytime running lights and a horizontal fiber optic strip.
Hubertus Troska, member of the board of management of Daimler AG, said, "China is not only the most important passenger car sales region for us, but also the world's leading market for electric cars. With its seven seats, the SUV meets the needs of very family-oriented customers."
This is in relation to the fact that this model will reach the Chinese and European markets this 2021, while America will have to wait until the following year.
Although Mercedes-Benz reserved certain information until the physical display, it reported that there will be different versions of the EQB SUV, which different power and traction. For example, the EQB 350 will incorporate two electric motors with a combined output of 288 hp.
Two other versions are planned: the EQB 300 4Matic with two engines, all-wheel drive and 241 hp; and one with front-wheel drive and 188 hp.
It should be noted that they are Mercedes me Charge, which means that they can be recharged at more than 200,000 public charging stations throughout Europe.
