L.U.C Skull One Calavera Pop Art is the fourth release from the brand inspired by Mexican tradition.
Chopard presented the new watch in the L.U.C Skull One series, an exclusive collection of watches celebrating the Day of the Dead, limited to 25 pieces in DLC (Diamond Like Carbon) treated steel.
The L.U.C Skull One Calavera Pop Art has a highly conceptual design that expresses the creativity of the brand.
On the dial, a mysterious, pop-art inspired Mexican skull casts bright flashes of color at the center of the 40mm case. The dauphine hands for the hours and minutes create a "radically eerie" contrast.
The kitschy aspect of the Day of the Dead motifs is even found in the L.U.Chopard logo, which is inserted in the moustache and is reminiscent of the company's founder, Louis-Ulysse Chopard.
The L.U.C Skull One Calavera Pop Art features a black calfskin strap with green lining and red and green stitching, echoing the vibrant colors of the dial.
The watch is powered by the L.U.C 96.53-L movement, an automatic caliber designed and assembled in the workshops of the Chopard Manufacture. These components, along with the movement's tungsten-alloy micro-rotor, are visible through a lightly tinted sapphire crystal case-back chosen to enhance the Day of the Dead atmosphere.
