During the celebration of Paris Fashion Week, Dior presented its SS21 collection for women, a ready-to-wear selection inspired by a new realty of life that had to adapt to confinement.

Maria Grazia Chiuri, creative director of the brand, declares, in front of a socially distant audience in the Jardin des Tuileries, that while designing the garments of the new delivery, she thought about how the fashion need changed irrevocably, no matter where in the world; then, it is not surprising that the almost 90 looks take a bit of every corner.

Chiuri transformed the Dios bar jacket, part of the 1957 FW collection presented in Japan, by introducing a highly relaxes, patchwork paisley tunic, fitted with a braided belt. It also included leather and suede vests, as well as jackets to suit casual dresses.

To increase the value of the collection, Maria Grazia cited Germano Celant’s 1997 essay, “The time has come for fashion to decipher its latent forces and desires, and to recognize itself as a free and original discipline.”

With this collection, Christian Dior will adapt to the needs of women who work and manage from home, without worrying about style; knowing that their fashion nees are completely covered.
