Auction house Christie's will sell the last existing chair that belonged to Queen Marie Antoinette of Austria (Vienna, 1755- Paris, 1793).
The chair is upholstered with a thin cloth and gold finishes, is estimated between 460,000 and $ 760.000 baseline.
The piece is the only survivor of a set of eight chairs and eight chairs that were commissioned by Marie Antoinette in 1780 for a pavilion of the Palace of Versailles. The furniture belonged to Belvedere Petit Trianon, or pavilion neoclassical rock, built for Queen between 1778 and 1781 by Richard Mique.
