Three Mexican hotels belonging to the Marriott International chain received Michelin Key awards.
In total, eight hotels and resorts in the hotel company's portfolio in the Caribbean and Latin America (CALA) received this recognition. In addition to Mexico, these properties are located in Costa Rica, Peru, Chile, Puerto Rico, and the Cayman Islands. They represent four of Marriott's luxury brands: Ritz-Carlton Reserve, The Ritz-Carlton, St. Regis, and The Luxury Collection.
Leading the way in these awards is Nekajui, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve in Costa Rica, which received three Michelin Keys, followed by Zadún, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve in Los Cabos, Mexico, which received two Michelin Keys. Six other Marriott International properties received one Michelin Key each.
The Marriott International properties in CALA recognized with Michelin Keys include:
- Three Michelin Keys: Nekajui, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve – Costa Rica.
- Two Michelin Keys: Zadún, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve – Mexico.
- One Michelin Key: The St. Regis Kanai Resort [initial photo], Riviera Maya – Mexico; The St. Regis Punta Mita Resort – Mexico; Tambo del Inka, a Luxury Collection Resort & Spa – Peru; The Ritz-Carlton, Santiago – Chile; The Ritz-Carlton, Grand Cayman – Cayman Islands; Dorado Beach, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve – Puerto Rico.

These accolades come as Marriott International continues to strengthen its presence in the luxury segment in the Caribbean and Latin America. As of the end of the first quarter of 2025, CALA had 68 luxury properties totaling 12,269 rooms, distributed across six of Marriott International’s seven global luxury brands, representing approximately 10% of the company’s global luxury portfolio. The region also boasted 39 signed luxury projects, representing 6,121 rooms under development.
The recognized properties also reflect the diversity of Marriott International's luxury offerings in CALA, from established destinations in Mexico, Peru, and the Caribbean to new additions to the portfolio. Nekajui, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve and recipient of three Michelin Keys in the region, opened its doors in Costa Rica in early 2025.
