Los principales tipos de clima de
la Argentina son cuatro: Cálido,
templado, árido y frío. En tanto
la latitud, altitud y la cercanía al
mar determinan la variedad
climática de Chile. A medida que
se avanza de norte a sur, el régi-
men pluvial aumenta y las tem-
peraturas descienden./

main types of weather of
Argentina are four: Hot, warm,
dry and cold. The latitude and
altitude and the closeness of
the ocean define the climatic
range of Chile. As you go from
north to south, the water
regime increases and the tem-
peratures drop.
Precipitaciones /
Precipitations
Como el avance de los frentes
cálidos tiene su máxima pene-
tración entre setiembre y abril,
las mayores precipitaciones en
Argentina se concentran en
estos meses. Mientras, el
desierto de Chile se extiende
desde el límite con el Perú hasta
el río Copiapó, marcando una
zona de precipitaciones escasas
y con una temperatura media de
16°C.
/ Since the progression of
the warm fronts has its maxi-
mum infiltration among
September and April, most of
the precipitations in Argentina
are compressed in these
months. On the other hand, the
desert of Chile expands from
the boundary of Peru to the
Copiapo river, surrounding an
area with few precipitations
and with an average tempera-
ture of 16°C.
Vientos/
Winds
Los vientos húmedos del antici-
clón del Atlántico penetran en el
este de Argentina, aunque lle-
gan a la pre-cordillera con lluvias
escasísimas. En Chile, en la zona
bajo la influencia de los sis-
temas migratorios de bajas pre-
siones predominan los vientos
del oeste.
/ The humid winds of
the Atlantic anticyclone per-
meate from the east of Argentina,
although they reach to the pre
mountain chain with very little
rain. In Chile, below the area
influenced by the migratory
low pressure systems the west
winds take over.
