que se paseaban tranquilamente muy cerca a mí.
Comprendí que no les molestaba mi presencia, gracias a
la tecnología moderna del buceo. Gocé de la cercanía de
estos animales y aprendí de su comportamiento. Pude
comprobar una vez más que si son respetados no repre-
sentan peligro para los seres humanos.
Después de permanecer cerca de dos horas bajo el
agua, salí feliz de mi encuentro con los colosos del mar.
Tomé las coordenadas de donde estaba para regresar. Al
día siguiente no pude salir por asuntos que me mantu-
vieron ocupado en la ciudad, tenía que programar visitas
de quienes habían venido a cubrir una nota sobre los
arrecifes y los tiburones ballena de la zona. Les platiqué
de los tiburones dormidos y no dudaron en responder
que querían probar suerte. Salimos de la marina un día
muy soleado, me encontraba nervioso, pues no sabía si
podría encontrar el arrecife nuevamente y si podríamos
bajar. Me dediqué a armar los equipos de buceo para
relajarme y poner en orden mis ideas.
Nos vestimos sin prisa, como queriendo alargar
el momento de entrar en el mar. En cuanto rompimos

After spending almost two hours underwater, I
emerged pleased with my encounter with these
colossal sea beings. I took their coordinates to
return later. The following day, I couldn’t go because
of matters to attend to in the city; I had to schedule
visits for the reporters who had come to cover a
story about hte reefs and hte whale sharks of the
zone. I told them about the sleeping sharks and
they didn’t hesitate in saying that they wanted to
try their luck. We left the marina on a very sunny
day, I was nervous because I didn’t know if I would
be able to find the reef againor if wewould be able to
dive. I set about preparing the diving equipment to
distract myself and put my ideas in order.
