orsche now has its new coupe on view in its
showrooms. It is sharing the stage with the
Boxster and, at first glance, looks exactly like it.
It is the missing link between the Boxster S and the
Carrera 911.
It is a two-seater with a central engine that is
quite unusual: it utilizes the stability of the Boxter’s
drive position, combined with the increased rigidity
of a roof like that of the 911.
The Cayman S accelerates to 100km/h (60 mi/h) in
5.4 seconds, taking advantage of its 3.4-liter displace-
ment and the 295 HP that comes from the traditional
Porsche engine featuring six opposing cylinders.
This lets drivers take the speedometer to 275
km/h (171 mi/h), confident in the safety afforded by
the excellent weight distribution which results from
the power plant being located in front of the rear axle.

e trata del nuevo coupé que Porsche ha puesto dentro
de sus salas de exhibición. Comparte plataforma con
el modelo Boxster y es exactamente lo que parece a
golpe de vista. El eslabón que hacía falta entre el Boxster S y
el 911 Carrera. Es un biplaza con motor central muy peculiar
en su apuesta, ya que aprovecha la estabilidad de la posición
del impulsor en el Boxster, sumado al respectivo incremento
en la rigidez que proporciona un techo como en el 911.
El Cayman S acelera hasta los 100 km/h en 5.4 segundos,
aprovechando los 3.4 litros de desplazamiento y los 295 HP
que provienen del tradicional motor de seis cilindros opues-
tos de Porsche.
Con lo anterior, es posible llevar la aguja del velocímetro
hasta los 275 km/h aprovechando la seguridad que brinda una
excelente distribución del peso, gracias a que la planta de poder
se encuentra por delante del eje trasero. En el frente del Cayman
destaca la forma en que sus diseñadores han aportado detalles
inspirados en modelos de los años cincuenta para imprimirle
