En 1873 un grupo de hombres de negocios mila-
neses convirtieron la Villa en un hotel y se encarga-
ron de promover la región del lago como atracción
turística.
Edith Wharton, Mark Twain, Giuseppe Verdi y
John Singer Sargent estuvieron entre los primeros
visitantes que agraciaron la ribera del Lago Como
con su presencia. Desde entonces, muchas filma-
ciones se han llevado a cabo aquí. La última gran
película que se rodó fue “The Pleasure Garden”, de
Alfred Hitchcock, en 1926.
