Enestesentido,elLorenaOchoaInvitational(LOI)sere-
conoce como el torneo de golf más importante de América
Latina perteneciente a la gira de la LPGA desde 2008; ade-
más, tiene por finalidad promover el más notable talen-
to del deporte, así como difundir lasmejores cualidades
de esta disciplina Este torneo que cuenta con la cobertura
de medios de comunicación especializados y se transmite
en cientos de países alrededor delmundo, convocó el pasa-
do mes de noviembre a las 26 mejores jugadoras del LPGA
Official Money List, además de cinco golfistas más, como
invitadas especiales. Asimismo, las cinco mejor posiciona-
dasdeltorneoocupanunlugarespecialenelRolexRanking.
La ganadora del LOI, en su séptima edición, fue la
estadounidense Christina Kim, quien desde la primera
ronda se perfiló como líder y tuvo una fuerte rival en la
china Shanshan Feng, con quien jugó un desempate en
dos hoyos extra. Por su parte, la surcoreana Inbee Park
quedó en el tercer puesto.
El torneo repartió una bolsa de un millón de dólares
en premios y, como cada año, parte de sus ingresos son
destinados a la Fundación Lorena Ochoa AC.
Herencia de valores y prestigio
Rolex inició su estrecho vínculo con el golf en 1967,
cuando Arnold Palmer se convirtió en Testimonial
Rolex junto a Jack Nicklaus y Gary Player. Desde en-
tonces, la casa relojera ha construido un inigualable
legado golfístico al apoyar talentos y fomentar el
desarrollo de este deporte a nivel mundial. Con pre-
sencia en los más importantes torneos: El Masters,
Ryder Cup, The Presidents Cup, entre otros. Rolex

Lorena Ochoa Invitational.

recognized as the most important golf tournament of
Latin America belonging to the LPGA tour since 2008;

qualities of this discipline. This tournament counts
