Carrera
En esta nueva competencia participaron 12 equi-
pos de 10 países, a lo largo de 15 días de regata, que se
dividieron en cuatro etapas: Round Robin 1: Pool “A” &
Pool “B”; Round Robin 2: Gold &Silver Fleet; Challenger:
Sail Off & Finals; y Louis Vuitton Pacific Series Finals.
En la primera etapa del Round Robin 1, el “Pool
A” estuvo muy cerrado, ya que quitando al equipo
de casa, Emirates Team New Zealand, todos en este
grupo tuvieron tropiezos.
Sobresalió una gran regata entre Emirates Team
y BMW Oracle, en donde el primero ganó por esca-
sos 28s, clasificándose así para la siguiente ronda
en primer lugar; BMW Oracle Racing en segundo, y
Damiani Italia Challenge en tercer lugar, pasando al
grupo Gold, dentro del segundo Round Robin.
El “Pool B” tuvo a TEAMORIGIN como claro gana-
dor, teniendo también una regata muy cerrada con el
equipo suizo de Alinghi, en donde los británicos ga-
naron por 45s, clasificando para la siguiente ronda los
británicos, los suizos y el equipo Luna Rossi.
Enel RoundRobin2Gold Fleet participaron los prim-
eros seis sembrados del primer Round Robin, en donde
el equipo Emirates Team avanzó directamente a la final
del “Louis Vuitton Pacific Series”, por ser el primer sem-
brado. El segundomejor sembrado de este Round Robin
pasa directamente a la final del Challenger.
The Race
In this new competition, 12 teams from 10 di-
fferent countries participated, during 15 days of
regatta divided in four stages. Round Robin 1 Pool
“A” & Pool “B”; Round Robin 2: Gold & Silver Fleet;
Challenger: Sail Off & Finals; and the Louis Vuitton
Pacific Series Finals.
On thefirst stage of the RoundRobin1, “The Pool
A” was very close, with the exception of the host
team; every other team in this race had struggles.
A great regatta between Emirates Team and
BMW Oracle stood out, in which the first one won
by 28 seconds, classifying in first place for the next
round. BMW Oracle Racing finished second and
Damiani Italia Challenge in third all three into the
Gold team on the Second Round Robin.
The “Pool B” had TEAMORIGIN as a winner,
also having a very close regatta with Swiss team
Alinghi, where the British won by 45 seconds
and qualifying first, with the Swiss and the Luna
Rossi Team behind.
In the Gold Fleet Round Robin 2 the top six
teams from Round Robin 1 participated in which
the Emirates Team qualified straight to the Louis
Vuitton Pacific Series Final, since they qualified in
first place, and the second place qualifies straight
to the Challenger’s Final.
