Banderas Bay in Riviera Nayarit, hosted the "Women's Laser Radial World Championship", with seven days of competition where the best 72 sailors from 32 countries strove to get the best place at the top.

After a complicated beginning, the last two races saw an improvement in weather conditions. From the beginning, the American sailor Paige Railey was placed in the top positions and had good chances to get the gold, however, was the British Alison Young who won it, leaving the silver to Railey and bronze for Anne Marie Rindom, from Denmark.

In this regard, the winner of Wome's Wolrd Championship Laser Radial commented: "It was pretty tense the last race, I managed to win and I fought until the last moment." Meanwhile, Tania Elias Calles of Mexico, who says goodbye to the world championships , finished in the 28 position. A favorite was the Chinese Lijia Xu of China, Olympic champion who won the seventh place.
