• Para ingresar a Argentina se necesita un permiso
de estadía por 90 días y no se requiere visa, sólo
pasaporte. Los países limítrofes no requieren pasa-
porte, sólo documento de identidad.
• En la mayoría de las tiendas, comercios, bares y
restaurantes de la ciudad de Buenos Aires usted
puede pagar con cualquiera de las tarjetas de crédito
pero tenga en cuenta que en algunos casos, pueden
aplicar cargos de entre 10 y 20%.
• En Chile, los turistas necesitan solamente su pasa-
porte y cuando entran reciben una tarjeta de turismo
que tiene una validez de 90 días, la cual debe ser pre-
sentada al salir del país. Si intenta salir del país sin
ésta, lo más probable es que perderá su vuelo o lo
dejarán esperando mucho tiempo en la frontera.
• En general se paga solamente en pesos chilenos.
Lo más fácil es retirar con tarjeta bancaria (Maestro)
o tarjeta de crédito desde máquinas etiquetadas
Redbanc, que hay en todas las ciudades. Las tarifas
para retirar dinero con su tarjeta de crédito suelen
ser más altas, así que consulte con el banco de su
país de origen.
• Chile es uno de los países más seguros de
Latinoamérica y como turista se puede mover libre-
mente. Siempre existen excepciones, como en los
barrios marginales o en el centro de las grandes ciu-
dades. Cuidado con carteristas (bien vestidos), quie-
nes practican su arte rápidamente en el metro,
autobuses o lugares de mucha confluencia de público.

valid only for 90 days, which must be presented
when leaving the country. If you insist on leaving
the country without presenting this, you will most
likely miss your flight or will be waiting a long time
at the border.
• Usually it is paid only in the currency of Chile
(Chilean pesos). The easiest thing to do is to with-
draw with your master card or credit card from
Redbanc ATM machines, which are found in every
city. The fees to withdraw money with your credit
card are usually higher, so you should check before
with your local bank.
• Chile is one of the safest countries in Latin-
America and as a tourist you can move around
freely. There are always exceptions, like in the mar-
ginalized neighborhoods or downtown of the big
cities. Be careful of well dressed pickpockets, who
practice their art swiftly at the subway, bus or very
crowded places.
