E ver since it was opened in 1927, the
Nürburgring has been one of the
world’s most demanding and beauti-
ful stretches of tarmac. Many stories
and myths are told about the long
history of the Eifel race track – as the birthplace
of the “Silver Arrows”, venue of the Formula 1
race during which Niki Lauda had his accident
in 1976 that also inspired the movie “Rush”, or
as the home of the world famous 24-Hour Race.
Numerous motorsport events scorch the tarmac
every season, with spectators marvelling at all
kinds of makes, vehicle types and hp classes,
and every fan getting his money’s worth.
But the Nürburgring has even more to offer. As
a modern leisure and business venue in combina-
tion with the Grand Prix track and the Nordschle-
ife, the Nürburgring provides varied event and
entertainment options for business customers,
motorsport fans and families alike. It is no acci-
dent that the Nürburgring is one of the ten most
popular national monuments in Germany today
(according to a Forsa survey).
