A
dos horas y 30 minutos de Kuala Lumpur las
montañas de la Península de Malasia han
inventado un verdadero jardín encantado:
Cameron Highland, donde destaca un hermoso
campo de golf.
En tiempos de la Colonia era una famosa “Hill
Station”, donde los ingleses descansaban del calor
de las llanuras, para lo cual habían instalado bellas
casas estilo “English Cottage”.
El entorno es fresco gracias a la altura, que va de
1300 a 1829 m, la temperatura nunca está debajo de
los 10 °C y raramente rebasa los 21 °C. El campo
de golf se extiende en el valle verde, rodeado por las
mansiones donde brillan los jardines llenos de flores.
Es un placer recorrer el campo con sus 18 hoyos,
en medio de una selva tropical húmeda, donde cre-
cen variedad de orquídeas y corre un río de aguas
transparentes. Es un placer terminar el día alojado en
uno de los encantadores hoteles de arquitectura
inglesa, sentado frente a la chimenea, disfrutando de
todas las elegantes atenciones a la manera británica.
Por los alrededores se organizan caminatas en el
bosque, atravesando los sembradillos de té que pin-
tan las colinas como una acuarela romántica, visi-
tando los pueblos típicos o simplemente gozando
del golf.
Cameron Highland es un atractivo jardín tropical

Highlands, with its outstanding golf course, is
two and a half hours fromKuala Lumpur.
In colonial times it was a renowned Hill Station
with beautiful houses in the English Cottage style,
a place where the British rested from the heat of
the plains.
It is a refreshing place thanks to its height,
which ranges from 1300 to 1829 mt (4265 to 6000
ft) and the temperature never descends below 10
°C (50 °F) and rarely goes over 21 °C (70 °F). The golf
course is located in the green valley and is sur-
rounded by mansions with stunning gardens
filled with flowers.
It is a pleasure to discover the 18-hole course,
which is set in a humid tropical jungle where there
is a variety of orchids and a river of transparent
waters. It is a pleasure to end the day in one of the
charming, English-style hotels, seated in front of
the fireplace and enjoying all the elegant British
service and attention.
In the surroundings there are organized hikes
in the forest, going through the fields of tea that
paint the hills like a romantic watercolor, exploring
the typical towns or simply enjoying a round of golf.
Cameron Highlands is an attractive, ever green
tropical garden that floats among the afternoon
clouds, inviting you to enjoy one of the best golf
courses in Asia without the inconvenience of a too
hot climate.
