En 2015, el Feadship Savannah de 83.5 m se con-
virtió en el primer mega-yate híbrido gracias a un sis-
tema electromecánico y una batería de un millón de
W. En el Lürssen Ice, anteriormente conocido como
Air, los diseñadores renunciaron también a los moto-
res diesel convencionales, optando por unidades de
accionamiento
Azipod
y motores eléctricos que pro-
ducen casi cero emisiones. Otros yates híbridos son el
Admiral Quinta Essentia de 55 m, el Heesen Home de
50 m diseñado por Van Oossanen Naval Architects, el
Superyate Aviva de 98 m de Abeking & Rasmussen, y
el futurista Nobiskrug Sailing Yacht A.
In 2015, the Feadship Savannah became the
world’s first hybridmega-yacht, powered by an elec-
tro-mechanical system and a one million watt bat-
tery. Lürssen Ice, formerly known as Air, is another
example of designers who chose to forego conven-
tional diesel engines, opting for Azipod drive units
and electric engines instead, which produce close to
no exhaust emissions. Other hybrid yachts are the
55m Admiral Quinta Essentia, 50m Heesen Home
designed by Van Oossanen Naval Architects, the
98m Abeking & Rasmussen Aviva super yacht, and
the futuristic Nobiskrug Sailing Yacht A.
