En la región occidental de Kenia se pueden disfru-
tar exuberantes montañas verdes, bosques tropicales
y una gran extensión del Lago Victoria, la 2
ª
reserva
más grande de agua dulce en el mundo, en donde
habitan grandes cantidades de especies endémicas.
Al Lago Victoria también se le conoce como Victoria
Nyanza (en swahili) o Ukerewe y es un destino para
pasear y pescar en sus alrededores. La gran particu-
laridad del Lago es que representa una frontera natu-
ral entre Uganda, Tanzania y Kenia. Las formidables
piedras sagradas del Kit Mikaye y Maragoli son su-
mamente importantes para las comunidades Luhyah
y Luo. En la región montañosa de Kericho se pueden
recorrer extensas plantaciones de té y disfrutar del
retiro y la tranquilidad.

In the occidental region of Kenya, exuberant
green mountains may be enjoyed, tropical forests,
and the great extension of Lake Victoria, second
largest reserve of sweet water in the world, habi-
tat of great endemic species. Lake Victoria is also
known as Al Victoria Nyanza (in Swahili) or Ukerewe,
it is a great destination to take a stroll or fish. The
great peculiarity of this lake is that it represents
the natural border between Uganda, Tanzania and
Kenya. The unforgettable sacred stones of the Las
Kit Mikaye and Maragoli are highly important for
the Luo and Luhyah communities, in the moun-
tain region of Kericho, where you can take a tour
through the tea plantations and enjoy the peace
and tranquility of the place.
