• Kenya is located in Eastern Africa, bordering
the Indian Ocean, between Somalia and Tan-
zania. It has a total of 582,650 sq km and its
capital is Nairobi. Its population of 32 mil-
lion people, whose official language is Eng-
lish and Swahili, as well as other native dia-
lects. It’s generally sunny, dry and not too hot
for most of the year in Kenya, despite being
situated on the equator. The main rainy sea-
sons are from March to May and November to
December but the amount of rainfall varies
each year. The best months to go are Janu-
ary, March, July, and October for safaris and
beaches, February and August may be used
to climb Mount Kenya. The currency is the
Kenyan Shilling.
• How to get there: Several international flights fly
to Kenya. Two international airports are located
in the country. One is at the Masai Mara Game Re-
serve, which is the most popular due to its wild-
life. The second is Kenyatta International Air-
port, with location in Nairobi, and if you want a
third option, you may arrive at Voi International
Airport, in Mombasa.

tal de 582,650 kilómetros cuadrados y su capital es
Nairobi. Su población está compuesta por 32 millones
de personas, cuyo idioma oficial es el Swahili y el in-
glés, así como otros dialelectos nativos.
Generalmente es soleado y seco, no hace dema-
siado calor la mayor parte del año en Kenia, pese
a estar situada en el Ecuador. Las principales
temporadas de lluvias son de marzo a mayo y de
noviembre a diciembre, pero la cantidad de agua
que cae varía cada año. Los mejores meses para
ir son enero, marzo, abril, julio y octubre para
los safaris y las playas, febrero y agosto pueden
ser esplendidos para escalar el Monte Kenia. La
moneda oficial es el Chelín Keniano.
• Varios vuelos internacionales llegan a Kenia. Dos
aeropuertos internacionales son: el que está situa-
do en la reserva Masai Mara, el cual es el más re-
conocido por su fauna. El segundo es el Aeropuerto
Internacional Keniatta, el cual se encuentra en Nai-
robi. Si usted quiere una tercera opción, puede lle-
gar al Aeropuerto Internacional de Voi, el cual está
localizado en Mombasa.
