Más allá de lo estrictamente deportivo, la 8a. Copa Agua
Alta Scappino fue el marco perfecto para un encuentro
social realmente festivo, con gente que vino de todas
partes del mundo y quienes tuvieron la oportunidad de
reunirse noche a noche en las diferentes fiestas llenas
de glamour y diversión sin límite. Destacan los eventos
del programa oficial, como la Cena en el Restaurante
Rancho de Don Andrés de Massimo, la Charreada-
Escaramusa-Concurso de Caballos Bailadores en el pue-
blo de Zapata y la Fiesta de Clausura realizada en la
disco Cocodrilo Azul de Playa Careyitos.
Aunque, a decir de AMURA, uno de los patrocina-
dores oficiales del torneo, la mejor fiesta fue la lleva-
da a cabo en Casa Mi Ojo (de Gian Franco Brignone,
ese gran visionario y ser humano creador de Careyes
hace casi 30 años).

. Copa Agua Alta Scappino fue un éxito total, rotun-
do en todos los sentidos. Un agradecimiento y felicita-
ción especial a Alberto Ardissone, fundador del
campeonato más bello en el lugar más hermoso para
jugar al polo enMéxico, y a Giorgio Brignone, Presidente
del Club de Polo Costa Careyes, pues con su gran visión
y magna organización han logrado que el polo mexica-
no siga creciendo día con día. Es importante señalar el
carácter altruista del evento, pues todas las ganancias
fueron donadas a la Fundación Vargas en beneficio de
los niños discapacitados. Y mientras llega la edición
2008 de este campeonato con aroma a salinidadmarina,
en ese paraje de ensueño y magia que es Careyes, siga-
mos soñando con polo, si no es el Rey de lo Deportes,
definitivamente sí es el Deporte de Reyes.

Strictly beyond the sporting element, the 8th Agua
Alta Scappino Cup was the perfect setting for a
really festive social gathering of people from all
over the world who had the opportunity to meet
every evening in various parties of unlimited
glamour and fun. The Official Program events
stood out, such as the Dinner at Don Andrés de
Massimo’s Ranch Restaurant, the Charreada-
Escaramusa Dancing Horse Championship in the
town of Zapata and the Closing Party held at the
Cocodrilo Azul nightclub in Playa Careyitos.
Even by saying that AMURA, one of the official
sponsors of the tournament, the best party was
the one held at Casa Mi Ojo (belonging to Gian
Franco Brigione, that great visionary and the cre-
ator the Careyes 30 years ago).

The 8thAgua Alta Scappino Cupwas a complete suc-
cess in all senses. Special thanks and congratula-
tions go to Alberto Ardissone, the founder of the
finest championship in the most beautiful place to
play polo in Mexico, and to Giorgio Brignone, the
Chairman of the Costa Careyes Club Polo, who,
thanks to their great vision and organization, have
ensured that Mexican polo keeps growing day by
day. The altruistic nature of the event must bemen-
tioned, since all the winnings were donated to the
Vargas Foundation for disabled children. And until
the 2008 Championship arrived with the flavor of
salt water in this field of dreams and magic that is
Careyes, we continue dreaming about, if not the
King of Sports, definitely the Sport of Kings.
