It is the Amura-Outlaw team and the fisher-
man is Augusto de Otaduy.
The Amura-Outlaw team experienced moments
of gloryonannouncingover the radio that themarlin
has beenhauled aboard andwould be on the scales in
less than an hour. The joy aboard the Grand Outlaw
was inexplicable; the members of the team, Mario
Ramírez (theMonkeyDog) GerardoPrietoandhis son,
Gerardo, Jr., Juventino Ríos, Luis Picos, Gabriel Garcia,
Julio Álvarez and the captain, Augusto de Otaduy,
with his children Gus and María José, enjoyed their
arrival in port.
Later, the 342 lb marlin was landed, but was
beaten by the 361 lb marlin landed by Bad
Company to win the bets of the day.

The starting pistol sounded again at 8:00 a.m. and
with it the hopes of winning the tournament on
the last day of fishing. It was Bad Company that
came in as triumphant with a 420 lb marlin to win
the first and second places of all the bets and tak-
ing away a check for US$3,902,997.50, setting the

Una y otra vez se escuchaba a los participantes
haciendo preguntas de las reglas y demás hasta
que a las 9:10 a.m. se escucha nuevamente “Radio
control adelante para el Grand Outlaw tenemos un
marlin azul en la línea (era el primer marlin del tor-
neo) déme el nombre del equipo, y lugar donde se
encuentran...”. Es el equipo Amura-Outlaw y el pes-
cador Augusto de Otaduy.
El equipo Amura-Outlaw vivía momentos de
gloria al anunciar por radio que el marlin estaba a
bordo y que en menos de una hora pasaría a la bás-
cula. La alegría a bordo del Grand Outlaw era inex-
plicable, los integrantes del equipo Mario Ramírez
(
Chango Perro
) Gerardo Prieto y su hijo Gerardo,
Juventino Ríos, Luis Picos, Gabriel García, Julio Álva-
rez y el capitán del equipo Augusto de Otaduy con
sus hijos Gus y María José, disfrutaron de la llegada
al puerto.
Fue más tarde cuando llegó un marlin de 342
libras y sería el Bad Company que traería el marlin de
361 libras y ganaría con esto las apuestas del día.

Nuevamente el balazo de salida a las 8:00 a.m. y la
esperanza de ganar el torneo en el último día de
pesca. Sin embargo, fue el mismo Bad Company que
llegaba a la báscula como un gran triunfador con un
marlin de 420 libras, ganando así el primer y segun-
do lugar y todas las apuestas, llevándose un cheque
de 3,902,997.50 dólares y con esto imponer un
