La ciudad data de 1716 y en algún momento de la
historia llegó a ser la ciudad con las murallas más
grandes en Rusia, la intención era frenar de alguna
forma la invasión mongola. Es uno de los centros
culturales más importantes de Siberia, cuenta con
57 bibliotecas, 8 museos, 24 institutos de entreteni-
miento y 8 teatros profesionales.

Museo Kondratiy Belov.– Es uno de los mu-
seos ubicados en uno de los edificios más hermo-
sos demadera del siglo. La escuela realista es domi-
nante en el arte exhibida en este emplazamiento.

Teatro de Títeres.– El teatro brinda espectá-
culos para gente de todas las edades. El teatro abrió
su nueva sede en 2005, ahí se encuentra una fuen-
te de invierno y un museo que expone marionetas.

Biblioteca Estatal Alexander Pushkin.– Con
una exposición de más de dos millones de ejempla-
res es una de las bibliotecas más grandes de Rusia.
Objetos de incalculable valor y ediciones extrañas
son albergadas en estas instalaciones.

• KondratyBelovMuseum.- It isoneof themu-
seums located inside of themost beautiful wooden
buildingsofthecentury.TheRealistschoolisdomi-
nant amongst the art showcased in this site.
• Theater of Puppets.- This theater offers
shows for people of all ages. It open a new seat
in 2005, and one there finds a winter fountain,
as well as a museum that showcases puppets.
• Omsk State Regional Research Library.-
Displaying over two million books, it is the
largest library in the whole of Russia. Invalu-
able objects and rare editions are housed in
these facilities.
