Tips&Tops

• All visitors to Azerbaijan must register with

the State Migration Service office. Although

hotels usually take care of this procedure, we

recommend that travelers double-check to see if

all is in order. If you plan on travelling to a border

region, it is important to check if there are special

regulations required to travel to these regions.

• The official language is Azeri, followed by Russian.

English isnot yet apopular language in thisnation.

• Although there are no vaccines required to

enter the country, we recommend the following:

tetanus, typhus, and hepatitis.

• The local currency is the Azerbaijani manat.

We do not recommend travelers checks, as it is

difficult to exchange them in banks.

• Travelers who wish to acquire rugs or other

antique objects must seek a export certificate,

which should be provided by the seller.

• Travelersareonlyallowedtotravelwithamaximum

of 125gm of caviar, 3 lt of alcoholic beverages, and

and 1,000 euros in cash or its equivalency in gold.

• FromMay to September, we recommend travelling

with light clothing. However, fromOctober toApril

it is wise to pack warmer clothing.

• Todos los visitantes de Azerbaiyán deben

registrarse en la Oficina del Servicio Estatal de

Migración; aunque los hoteles realizan este

trámite, se recomienda cerciorarse de que se

realizó debidamente. Si piensa viajar a alguna

región fronteriza es importante informarse si

existen regulaciones especiales al respecto.

• El idioma oficial es el azerí, seguido del ruso. El inglés

aún no es un idioma tan comercial en esta nación.

• Aunque no hay vacunas obligatorias para entrar

al país, se recomiendan algunas como: tétanos,

tifus y hepatitis.

• La moneda de Azerbaiyán es el manat azerí. No

se recomiendan los cheques de viajero ya que es

difícil cambiarlos en los bancos.

• Al adquirir una alfombra o algún objeto antiguo, es

necesario tramitar un certificado de exportación, que el

vendedor le podrá proporcionar.

• Solo se permite llevar de regreso un máximo de

125 gr. de caviar, 3 lt de bebidas alcohólicas y

1,000 euros en efectivo o su equivalencia en oro.

• De mayo a septiembre es recomendable viajar con

ropa ligera; sin embargo, de octubre a abril es

bueno viajar con una indumentaria más cálida.
