Con la firme convicción de ser una pionera, Zaha

Hadid, se permitió romper todas las reglas posibles:

fragmentó la realidad, reinventándola con un lápiz

como varita mágica para liberarse de los preceptos,

del universo finito de los planos de dibujo; creó formas

sin límites, imposibles, desprejuiciadas, desafiantes,

libres de los ángulos simétricos; una mezcla de todas

las técnicas y de todas las teorías, para reconcebir la

arquitectura en un juego que logra desafiar las leyes

de la gravedad y de la lógica al pie del precipicio, para

luego integrarse grácilmente como una parte del aire.

Incontables veces ganó concursos que finalmen-

te no se construían; mientras ella continuaba con su

labor docente, establecía vínculos y colaboraciones

con muchas otras áreas. Siempre con los líderes en

cada ramo diseñó: escenografías; exposiciones; joyas;

moda; objetos; muebles, que son sujetos de culto,

como lo fue una mesita de centro acrílica, de resina

liquida glacial, que imita el agua filtrándose, enco-

mendada por David Gil Gallery, misma que estuvo

nominada en el segmento de muebles, en los premios

Museo del Diseño de Londres 2013

Firmly inclined on becoming a pioneer, Zaha

Hadid allowed herself to break all possible rules,

shattering reality, reinventing it with her pencil as

if it were a magic wand to rid herself of all prejudice,

of the finite world of blueprints. She created limit-

less, impossible, open-minded, defining, and free

forms with asymmetric angles; a fusion of all theo-

ries and all techniques in order to reconceive archi-

tecture as a game that manages to defy the laws

of gravity and logic. Standing at the edge of a cliff,

only to become, gracefully, one with the sky.

She won contests that ultimately shelved her

projects untold times while she pressed on with her

day job, creating networks, and collaborating in oth-

er fields, and always with the leading figures in the

realmof design: scenography, exhibits, jewelry, fash-

ion, objects, furniture –mostwhichsoonbecame cult

objects, suchas the acrylic coffee tablemadewith liq-

uid glacial resin, which imitates the flowing move-

ment of water, commissioned by David Gil Gallery,

andwhichwas nominated for an award in the design

during the LondonMuseumof Design, in 2013.
