“La arquitectura es una de las

es tan poderosa”

En 1978 formó parte de la Oficina de Arquitectura Me-

tropolitana (OMA) -vanguardia de la arquitectura en

Londres- al tiempo que enseñaba en la Architectural

Association. En 1979 fundó Zaha Hadid Architechts. A

un nivel más profundo, se perfeccionaba su voluntad

de hierro: una mujer, inmigrante, árabe, enfrentando

un muro de prejuicios, pero ella convirtió cada obstá-

culo en certeza.

Durante los siguientes 20 años, sus trabajos es-

tuvieron considerados como fantasías imposibles de

construir; sin embargo en 1983, sus dibujos y pro-

yectos fueron reconocidos durante una exposición

retrospectiva en la Architectural Association, en Lon-

dres. Desde entonces han sido mostrados en coleccio-

nes de los más importantes museos del mundo.

complex of arts. That’s why

it’ so powerful.”

In 1978, she formed part of the Metropolitan Ar-

chitecture Office (MAO) – an avant-guard architec-

tural group in London – at the same time she was

teaching at the Architectural Association. In 1979,

she founded Zaha Hadid Architects. On a deeper

level, she was perfecting her iron will: a woman, im-

migrant, Arab, facing a wall of prejudices, yet she

turned ever challenge into an opportunity.

For the next 20 years, her projects were consid-

ered as fantasies, impossible to be built. Regardless,

in 1983, her blueprints and projects were recog-

nized in during a retrospective exhibit at the Archi-

tect4ual Association, in London. Since then, they

have been showcased in some of the most impor-

tant museums in the world.
