L
a nueva creación de la Coleccion Montblanc Vi-
lleret 1858 muestra un interesante estilo van-
guardista. El nuevo Exo Tourbillon Chronographe
es un reloj regulador con un gran minutero central, un
exhibidor de horas definido, un indicador de segundo
huso horario (con exhibidor día/noche), una sub-cará-
tula para los segundos, un cronógrafo con un contador
de 30minutos y un tourbillon con un volantemás gran-
de que la jaula y posicionado fuera de ella.
La carátula del reloj mantiene una configura-
ción típica de regulador. Una gran manecilla de
minutos y la manecilla del cronógrafo comparten
un eje común en al centro de la carátula. La sub-
carátula de las horas ocupa la mitad inferior de
la cara del reloj. Otros exhibidores representan
un sistema solar miniatura con un sol dorado (el
tourbillon) a las 12; la Tierra a las 6; y la Luna en
la forma de una pequeña carátula de 24 horas entre
las 4 y las 5 (como un exhibidor de día/noche para
el segundo huso horario); y otras dos en la forma de
un pequeño segundero a las 9 y el contador de 30
minutos a las 3. Este último exhibidor es semicircular
con dos escalas diferentes calibradas de 0 a 15 y
de 15 a 30 minutos, respectivamente. Las puntas
de la manecilla de diferente tamaño y color sirven
para designar su propia escala.

Villeret 1858 features a delightfully surprising
and trailblazing innovation. The new Ex Tour-
billon Chronographe is a regulator watch with a large
centrally axial minute-hand, a distinct hour display, an
indicator for the time in a second time zone (with day/
night display), a subdial for the seconds, a chronograph
withacounter for 30elapsedminutes, andanabsolutely
unprecedentedtourbillonwithabalancelargerthanthe
tourbillon’s rotating cage andpositionedoutside it.
Thewatch’s faceboasts a typical regulator configura-
tion.Alargeminute-handandthechronograph’selapsed
seconds-hand share a common axis at the center of the
dial. The subdial for the hours is shifted out of the center
and occupies the lower half of thewatch’s face. Addition-
al displays portray aminiature solar systemwith a gold-
ensun (the tourbillon) at the “12,” theEarthat the “6,” the
moon in the formof a small 24-hour dial between the “4”
andthe“5”(asaday/nightdisplayforthetimeinasecond
time zone), and two other heavenly bodies in the formof
the small seconds at the “9” and the chronograph’s coun-
ter for 30 elapsedminutes at the “3.” The last-mentioned
displayissemicircular,withtwodifferentlycoloredscales
calibrated for 0 to 15 and 15 to 30 minutes, respectively.
The tips of two unequally long and differently colored
hands eachserves itsdesignatedscale.
