The exhibition curated by Philip Rylands is a banquet
for the lovers of Post-War European art, covering a pe-
riod of thirty years (from 1949 to 1979), time where
PeggyGuggenheimlived in thePalazzoVenier dei Leo-
ni, actual venue of themuseum that carries her name.
This is a show that reviews that labor of collector that
lead her to bequeath her treasures ,so the future gen-
erations could appreciate it. The show also explores
the works of art that were acquired by the Venetian
Foundation since death of Peggy. In the journey can
be appreciated sculptures of Germaine Richier, Tony
Caro or BrianHunt, at the time that the famous “holes”
of Lucio Fontana, works of Pierre Alechinsky, Eduardo
Chillida and Josef Albers.
Standout the painting and sculpture of AlbertoGi-
acommetti, and Marion Marini with which opens the
exhibition; but are also important the rooms where
the Italian – and Venetian – artists are analyzed, with
whom Peggy Guggenheim lived during the 1950s,
such as Edmond Bacci or Pizzinato. Of the same decade
highlight the British examples as Ben Nicholson or
Francis Bacon. There has been given a room for CoBrA
movement, and different visual and aesthetic explo-
rations of the European Post-war.

, del 29 de febrero al 6 de mayo de
2012. La exposición curada por Philip Rylands, es un de-
leite para los amantes del arte europeo de la posguerra,
abarcando un periodo de treinta años (de 1949 a 1979),
fechas en las que Peggy Guggenheim vivió en el Pala-
zzo Venier dei Leoni, sede actual del museo que lleva
su nombre. Ésta es pues una exposición que revisa esa
labor de coleccionista que la llevaría a legar sus tesoros
para que las futuras generaciones pudieran apreciarlos.
Además, la muestra explora obras que fueron adquiridas
por la Fundación Veneciana desde la muerte de Peggy.
En el recorrido se pueden apreciar esculturas de Ger-
maine Richier, Tony Caro o Brian Hunt, al igual que los
famosos “lienzos agujerados” de Lucio Fontana, obra de
Pierre Alechinsky, Eduardo Chillida y Josef Albers.
Destaca la pintura y la escultura de Alberto Giacom-
metti y Marino Marini con las que abre la muestra. Pero
también son importantes las salas en las que se analizan
los artistas italianos –y venecianos– con los que convi-
vió Peggy Guggenheimdurante la década de 1950, como
Edmondo Bacci o Pizzinato
. De la misma década resaltan
los ejemplos británicos como Ben Nicholson o el mismo
Francis Bacon. Se ha destinado un espacio para el movi-
miento CoBrA, y las diferentes exploraciones visuales y
estéticas de la posguerra europea.
