The festivities began with colorful parades of
childrenwho proudly carried their flags and banners,
and the bands of music liven up the walking of the
people who wore their typical National Garments.
InOslo,theCapitalCity,approximately100schools
and bands of music paraded and strolled through the
city, walking by monuments and iconic buildings;
in one of the balconies of the Royal Palace, the Royal
Family could be seen waving to all who paraded. The
procession ended in front of the CityHall, where thou-
sands of citizens and visitorswere reunited.
In Bergen, the main parade went out of the Tor-
gallmenningenandended inFestplassen, theparades
passed through the central streets of the city. Once
the parades finished, the concert and other activities
enriched the feast throughout the day, amongst them
was a rowing competition in Vågen. The celebrations
endedwith a huge display of fireworks.
The day was packed with activities which be-
gan at 7 am, and people would not be surprised
by the noise when awakened by the bustle of the
preparation for this big National festivity. This
was a truly special moment to be in Norway and
mix with the locals, for it was the way to live one
of the most special traditions of any Country.
Las festividades comenzaron con coloridos desfiles
de niños que llevaban orgullosamente sus banderas y
carteles, las bandas de música amenizaron el transitar
de la gente que portaba sus trajes típicos nacionales.
En la capital, Oslo, desfilaron un aproximado de
100 escuelas y bandas de música que recorrieron la
ciudad pasando por monumentos y edificios icónicos,
en uno de los balcones del Palacio Real, se podía ver a
la familia real saludando a todos los que desfilaban. La
procesión llegó a su fin, frente al Ayuntamiento, don-
de miles de ciudadanos y visitantes, se dieron cita.
En Bergen la marcha principal salió de Torgall-
menningen y concluyó en Festplassen, los desfiles se
abrieron paso entre las calles centrales de la ciudad.
Al terminar se realizaron conciertos y actividades a lo
largo del día, entre ellas una competición de remo en
Vågen. Las celebraciones culminaron con un gran es-
pectáculo de fuegos artificiales.
El día tuvo una gran actividad desde las siete de la
mañana, por lo cual la gente no debía sorprenderse ante
el ruido al ser despertada, por el ajetreo de los preparati-
vos para esta gran fiesta nacional. Este fue un momento
verdaderamente especial para estar en Noruega, y mez-
clarse con los locales, ya que de esta forma se pudo vivir
una de las tradiciones más especiales de cualquier país.
