Un viejo lobo de mar
La historia de Noruega está vinculada fuertemente
a la pesca y el mar, aunque también tiene importan-
tes y famosas pesquerías de río. La proclama entre
sus habitantes ha sido ganarse la vida pescando,
cazando ballenas y focas. La pesca es un elemento
central en las empresas e industria del país, dado
que dispone de algunos de los bancos de especies
marinas más ricos del mundo. Las costas noruegas
como el mar del Norte, el mar de Barents y el Frente
Polar, son zonas de gran productividad pesquera,
donde el arenque, capelán, bacalao, caballa, carbo-
nero, eglefino, bacaladilla, maruca, brosmio, espadín,
fletán negro, perro del norte, gallineta nórdica y
faneca noruega, son las principales especies de
captura comercial.

The History of Norway is strongly linked to fishing
and the sea, though it also has important and fa-
mous River fisheries. Its inhabitants have earned
their living fishing and hunting whales and seals.
The fishing is a core element in the enterprises and
industry of the Country, since in its waters you can
find some of the richest schools of marine species in
theworld. TheNorwegian coasts, aswell as theNorth-
ern Sea, the sea of Barents and the Polar front, are
areas of great fishing productivity, where the herring,
the capelan, the codfish, the mackerel, the pollack, the
haddock, the blue whiting, the maruca, the brosmio,
the sprats, the fletán negro, the dog of the North, the
Atlantic Redfish, and the Norwegian Flatfish are some
of themain species of commercial capture.
