El SEA Aquarium está en la isla singapurense
de Sentosa, el cual se considera -por su extensión
territorial, sus instalaciones, la cantidad de agua
y las miles de especies animales- como el más
grande oceanógrafo del mundo.
De hecho, ha superado al acuario de Georgia,
en Atlanta, Estados Unidos, que contiene unos 10
millones de galones de agua; inaugurado en 2005,
y el cual alberga los únicos tiburones ballena fue-
ra de Asia. Sin embargo, el acuario de Singapur
ganó el récord Guinness por tener el panel acrílico
más grande en su Galería del Océano, con más de
18 millones de litros de agua salada. Este recinto
acuático es el hogar de majestuosas mantarrayas,
enormes meros goliat, peces napoleón y otros gi-
gantes del mar. Los visitantes pueden interactuar
con más de 200 tiburones y descubrir los mitos
sobre estos depredadores, además de echar un
vistazo a una morena en una grieta rocosa o visi-
tar una comunidad de arrecife bajo el agua.

rial extension, its facilities, the great amount of
water and the thousands animals species, as the
largest oceanographer of the world.
It has outperformed the aquarium in Geor-
gia, in Atlanta (United States), that contains
about 10 million gallons of water and was
opened in 2005, housing the only sharks whale
outside Asia. However, the Aquarium of Singa-
pore won the Guinness world record for having
the largest acrylic panel in its Gallery of the
ocean, with more than 18 million litres of salt
water. This area is home to majestic stingrays,
enormous Goliath groupers, napoleon fish and
other giants of the sea. Visitors can interact
with more than 200 sharks and discover the
myths about these predators, as well as take a
look at a girl in a rock crevice or visit an under-
water reef community.
