The
vanilla is the orchid
species most widely
cultivated in the
world.
Casi 226 especies de orquídeas hay en Singapur.
Sin embargo, existen 178 especies que se consideran
extintas, y tan solo cinco se consideran comunes. El
programa de conservación de orquídeas tiene como
objetivo vigilar las especies existentes, explorar for-
nativas:
Grammatophyllum speciosum, Bulbophyllum
vaginatum, Membranaceum bulbophyllum, Cymbidium
finlaysonianum
y bicolor.

Almost 226 species of orchids are available in

considered extinct, and only five are thought to be
common. The program of conservation of orchids
has as objective monitor existing species, explore
ways to its conservation and increase their number
in the natural and urban environments.
One of the best ways to conserve the species is
reintroduces them in suitable spaces for their re-
production and life. An example of this is the inser-
tion of the plants in trees on the roads, parks and
natural areas.
The program has had in its first phase experi-
ments with five native species with a large per-
centage of success. The first phase of the program
consists of experiments with the following native
species:
Grammatophyllum speciosum, Bulbophyllum
