A
s in the case of the Ferrari F430 Challenge, the
Lamborghini Gallardo is the traditional succe-
sor of the exotic Gallardo and Gallardo Spider.
As the initials indicate, it is a Special Edition since
only 250 cars will be built as of September 2005. Each
is an authentic numbered jewel.
Though derived from the Gallardo, this a truly spe-
cial vehicle since it comes with a V-10 five liter engine
that develops an additional 20 HP for a total of 520 HP.
It also features permanent integral traction, six-speed
transmission with shorter gears and a torque of 376
lb/ft at a scant 4,500 RPM. This results in excellent
acceleration, going from 0 to 100 km (0-62 mi) in 3.95
seconds, two decimals faster than the Gallardo.
This sports coupe, assembled in Santa Agata
Bolognese, Italy, is invariably manufactured with a
black roof and side mirrors and the rest of the body is
painted in white, yellow, orange, green or two tones of
gray while the interiors are upholstered in leather
of the same color as the body, contrasting with the
black dashboard.
Dynamically, the Gallardo SE is also different since
it has an electronic mechanism for the transmission
which, together with the launch mode, physically
“shoots” the car from practical immobility, going
through all the speeds at a very fast, precise rhythm,
to reach its top speed of 315 km/h (197 mi/h), a very
respectable number. When it comes to stopping, this
rocket has ABS brakes as well as Pirelli P-Zero Corsa
tires mounted on 19-inch wheels, allowing it to brake
in reduced tracts.
Concerning comfort and convenience, the Ga llar-
do SE has a camera that, together with the dashboard-
integrated multimedia screen, facilitates parking
maneuvers. All this for about 220,000 dollars.

omo en el caso del Ferrari F430 Challenge, el Lambor-
ghini Gallardo es una sucesión ya tradicional de los au-
tos exóticos Gallardo y Gallardo Spider. Como la sigla
lo indica, se trata de una Special Edition (Edición Especial),
debido a que se están fabricando sólo 250 autos, y esto se
lleva a cabo desde septiembre de 2005. Y cada una de estas
auténticas joyas está numerada.
Es un vehículo realmente especial, aunque derivado del
Gallardo, puesto que viene equipado con un motor V-10 de
cinco litros que desarrolla 20 HP más, para un total de 520 HP,
que cuenta con tracción integral permanente, transmisión de
seis velocidades con relaciones más cortas, y un torque de 376
libras/pie a escasas 4,500 r/m. Esto da como consecuencia una
excelente aceleración, logrando el 0-100 km/h en 3.95 segun-
dos, cifra dos décimas inferior a la del Gallardo.
Este coupé deportivo fabricado en Santa Agata Bologne-
se, Italia, se manufactura invariablemente con techo y espe-
jos laterales en color negro y el resto de la carrocería en
blanco, amarillo, naranja, verde y dos tonos de gris, teniendo
interiores tapizados en piel del mismo color de la carrocería,
contrastando con el negro del tablero.
Dinámicamente, el Gallardo SE también es diferente, ya
que tiene un dispositivo electrónico para la transmisión que,
junto con el modo de lanzamiento, “dispara” materialmente
al auto desde la inmovilidad total, recorriendo todas las velo-
cidades a un ritmo sumamente rápido y preciso, hasta llegar
a su velocidad tope de 315 km/h, cifra muy respetable. Cuan-
do de detenerse se trata, este bólido cuenta con frenos ABS,
auxiliados por llantas Pirelli P-Zero Corsa montadas en rines
de 19 pulgadas, logrando frenadas en espacios muy cortos.
Asimismo, desde el punto de vista del confort y la conve-
niencia, el Gallardo SE cuenta con una cámara que, junto con
la pantalla multimedia integrada al tablero, facilita las ma-
niobras de estacionamiento. Todo esto por aproximadamen-
te 220,000 dólares.
