Friends of Amura
Some of you may be acquainted with my career, some
othersmaynot. Ever since I was 6years old, I have been
apersonpassionateforadrenalineandsports.Irealized
my passion for sailing when I was very little, and since
then it has been an ongoing process of setting goals,
achieving them and then seeking some greater chal-
lenges. Forme, boundaries simplydonot exist.
I have contended in 4 Olympic Games and been on
top of theworld ranking, and onvarious regional podia
suchas theonesof theCentral AmericanandCaribbean
Games andof thePanAmericanGames.
Today, I dream of reaching the “Everest” of my
objectives; to compete in the most demanding and
perilous competition there exists, accomplished solo
around the planet: the Vendée Globe, in 2020.
In order to achieve it, I have structured my
project on stages; each one interlocks with an im-
mediate marketing project so as to be able to ob-
tain the sponsorships needed for the next com-
petition. Everything commences with my return
to the Olympic sailing contests and the pursuit of
the ranking for my 5th Olympics in Rio de Janeiro
2016. Today I have the opportunity to re-write the
end of my sportive career in dinghy sailing; and I
am sure this will be the best upshot in my career.
The No Boundaries project Phase One is start-
ing in September, 2016. I have decided to set a
new world record by touring a distance 8 times
greater than the record I set in 2010; about 2,400
m from California to Hawaii on board a laser radial
(a 14 feet long dinghy.)
Phase Two will be my first tour around the planet
in the Regatta Barcelona World Race, in 2018; a similar
route to the one I will take in the Vendée Globe, but this
time in a pair; that is, I will have another crewmember
onboard. Thefinal objectivewill be theVendéeGlobe in
theyear 2020.
The project takes into account the production of a
documentary about my transformation as an elite sin-
gle-handedsailingOlympic athlete.

Algunos conocerán un poco de mi trayectoria, otros tal
vez no. Soy desde los seis años de edad una persona
apasionada por la adrenalina y el deporte. Descubrí mi
pasión por la vela cuando era muy pequeña y desde
entonces fue un continuo proceso de establecer metas,
lograrlas y buscar algo más grande que retar. Para mí, los
límites simplemente no existen.
He participado en cuatro Juegos Olímpicos, he
estado en el top del ranking mundial y en diversos podios
regionales como los Juegos Centroamericanos y los
Panamericanos.
Hoy sueño con lograr concretar el “Everest” de mis
objetivos, participar en la más difícil y más peligrosa
carrera de velero que existe y que se realiza en solitario
alrededor del planeta: la Vendée Globe en el año 2020.
Para ello he estructurado mi proyecto en
fases, cada una engrana un proyecto de marketing
inmediato y de esa manera poder logar los patrocinios
necesarios para la siguiente competición. Todo
comienza con mi regreso a la vela olímpica y la
búsqueda de la clasificación a mis quintas olimpiadas
en los Juegos Olímpicos en Río de Janeiro 2016. Hoy
tengo la oportunidad de reescribir el final de mi
carrera deportiva en vela ligera y estoy segura de que
será el mejor resultado de mi trayectoria.
La fase uno del proyecto Sin Límites, comienza
en septiembre de 2016. He decidido establecer un
nuevo récord mundial recorriendo una distancia ocho
veces mayor al récord que obtuve en 2010. Serán

La fase dos será mi primera vuelta al planeta en
la Regata Barcelona World Race en el 2018. Es una
ruta muy similar a la que haré en la Vendée Globe
pero esta vez es a dos. Es decir, tendré un tripulante
a bordo. El objetivo final es la Vendée Globe en el
año 2020.
El proyecto contempla la creación de un documental
sobre mi transformación de una atleta olímpica hacia una
atleta élite de la vela oceánica en solitario.
