Wiener Schnitzel en un restau-
rante en este punto del mapa?
Eso podría pasar por la cabeza
mientras se entra a este lugar de
cocina tradicional y se observa el domo de la catedral ale-
mana en Gendarmenmarkt Square, uno de los espacios
más hermosos de esta ciudad, apreciable a través de la
ventana del restaurante. Este sitio es ya una institución
de Berlín, y su apertura fue en 1811; en sus inicios, este
colorido espacio fue una tienda de vinos, y gracias a su
diversidad y gran selección de viñedos, que se estaban
expandiendo en otros lugares de Europa, pronto se con-
virtieron en los proveedores reales del príncipe de Prusia.
Durante las mejores épocas de Berlín, este lugar reci-
bía desde los grandes directores de cine, hasta los desco-
nocidos actores, pensadores y escritores que creaban una
sagaz atmósfera, en tantoquede los cabarets llegaban las
estrellas de ópera y las showgirls. Fue cuando las sirenas
de Hitler irrumpieron en el ruido de la noche, que el mo-
vimiento habitual cesó, sólo para ser abierto una vez más
como una pequeña tienda de vino en Charlottenburg.
Nos complace anunciar que su menú no ha cam-
biado desde 1950 -cuando llegó a la epítome de la
fama- y sigue fiel a sus raíces. Aun se pueden pedir
los medallones de ternera con romero, o el entrecô-
te en salsa bearnesa, o la pierna rellena de vegeta-
les en salsa Borgoña. ¿Pero algo imperdible?, el Wie-
ner Schnitzel, algo que todos piden, debido al hecho
de que es el mejor de todo Berlín.

head while you enter this cozy place of
traditional cuisine and gaze through the
window to observe the dome of the German Ca-
thedral at Gendarmenmarkt Square, which is one
of the most beautiful places of this city. This place
is already a Berliner institution, since it was open
in 1811; since its beginnings, this restaurant was
a wine shoppe, and thanks to the diversity of its
products and great vineyard selection which ex-
pands throughout Europe, they soon became the
royal purveyors of the Pursian prince.
During the best moments of Berlin, this place
received from the grand cinema directors to the un-
known extras, thinkers and writers created a sala-
cious atmosphere, and at the same time, opera stars
and cabaret showgirls also arrived. It was when
Hitler’s sirens interrupted the night buzz that the
usual people flow stopped, only to be opened once
more as a small winery in Charlottenburg.
We are more than pleased to announce that it’s
menuhasn’t changed since the 1950’s - when the sum-
mit of fame reached this place-, it’s still faithful to it’s
roots. You can order veal medallions with rosemary, or
the entrecôte with bearnaise sauce, even the stuffed
beef legwithvegetables inbourgogne sauce, but some-
