• The Gibraltar monkeys are the protagonists of

the Rock. Please refrain from feeding them, and

avoid playing or direct contact with them—even

though they are mostly friendly and they are

used to interacting with humans, it shouldn’t be

forgotten that they are wild animals.

• If you decide to drive in Gibraltar, you should

consider that roads are narrow and there’s

scarce parking space

• Credit cards are accepted almost everywhere.

Traveler’s checks are also accepted, and there

are ATMs in different locations.

• There is no formal British consular representation

in Gibraltar, but the local authorities are in

charge of consular assistance

• During high season, it might be difficult to find

lodging. Luckily, there are many Andalusian

cities in the vicinity to choose from, and even

the option to stay overnight in the neighboring

Morocco.

• Landing at the Gibraltar Airport is considered

one the most extreme experiences in the world.

The runway is only 1.8km long, and it crosses

the city’s main street; when a plane lands or

takes off, red lights must stop traffic.

• If you purchase tobacco and alcohol (tax free),

remember that Customs will only allow a

maximum of ten cigarette packs and one bottle

per person.

• Visitors must acquire a full travel health

insurance prior to their visit.

• Los monos de Gibraltar son los protagonistas

principales del Peñón. Por favor absténgase de darles

alimentos; de preferencia no los toque o juegue

con ellos, pues aunque parecen mascotas y están

acostumbrados al trato con humanos, no hay que

olvidar que son animales salvajes.

• Si deciden conducir en Gibraltar, deberán considerar

que las carreteras son estrechas y hay muy pocos

estacionamientos.

• Las tarjetas de crédito son admitidas en casi todas

partes. Se aceptan cheques de viajeros y hay cajeros

automáticos en diversos establecimientos.

• No hay representación consular británica formal en

Gibraltar, pero las autoridades locales se ocupan de

todas las solicitudes de asistencia consular.

• En temporada alta, quizá resulte difícil encontrar

alojamiento. Por suerte, tiene a su disposición varias

ciudades de Andalucía, e incluso la opción de dormir

alguna noche en la vecina Marruecos.

• AterrizarenelAeropuertodeGibraltarestáconsiderada

como una de las experiencias más extremas del

mundo. La longitud de la pista de aterrizaje es de solo

1,8km de largo y atraviesa la carretera principal de la

ciudad; cuandoun avióndespega o aterriza, semáforos

en rojo deben detener el tráfico.

• Si compras tabaco y alcohol (libres de impuestos),

recuerda que en la aduana solo te permitirán pasar con

un máximo de diez cajetillas de cigarros y una botella

por persona.

• El visitante deberá tener contratado un seguromédico

de viaje completo previo a su visita.
