• Las fiestas que celebra Londres en marzo son el día
de San Patricio (el 17), el Martes de Carnaval (Shrove
Tuesday) a mediados de mes, la exposición y la venta
de artículos para el hogar Ideal Home Show (3 sema-
nas de marzo). A mediados de abril se celebra la Fe-
ria del Libro de Londres, el día 21 es cumpleaños de la
Reina Isabel, el 23 es día de San Jorge, en la segunda
quincena se corre el Maratón de Londres y a fin demes
es el Festival de Cine del East End.
• Los castillos y palacios que deben visitarse en
Londres son el Palacio de Buckingham -no perder-
se el cambio de guardia-, el de Kensington -resi-
dencia preferida por los soberanos hasta 1760-,
el Palacio de la Corte de Hampton -en el oeste de
Londres, a orillas del Támesis-, la Torre de Lon-
dres -a orillas del Támesis, junto al Tower Bridge-
y el Castillo de Windsor.
• Londres se enorgullece de sus jardines públicos y los
cuida en consecuencia. Los Jardines Kew Green son
la cumbre de la obsesión londinense por la jardinería.
El Chelsea Physic Garden tiene especies no nativas,
gracias al microclima que crea su proximidad con el
Támesis. Los Geffrye Museum Gardens muestran la
evolución de la jardinería ornamental a lo largo de
medio milenio.
• Los londinenses dan tanta importancia a sus par-
ques, que los principales han sido nombrados
“Parques Reales” y administrado por esta ofi-
cina (Royal Parks): Hyde Park, Richmond, Ken-
sigton Gardens, The Regent’s Park, Greenwich
Park, Bushy Park, St. James Park, Green Park y el
Brompton Cementery.
• March festivals celebrated inLondonare St. Patrick’s

sale of housewares . In mid-April, the London Book
Fair takes place. On the 21st the birthday of Queen
Elizabeth is celebrated and on the 23rd. St. George’s
Day. During the second half of the month, you can
see the London Marathon and at the end of the
month, the East EndCinema Festival.
• A must to visit are the castles and palaces in Lon-
don. When you go to Buckingham Palace; do not
to miss the change of guard. Also, visit the Kens-
ington, which was the preferred residence by the
royals until 1760. The Palace of Hampton Court,
in west London by the banks of the Thames; the
Tower of London on the Thames, next to the Tow-
er Bridge, and Windsor Castle.
•London is proud of its public gardens and care of
them accordingly. Kew Gardens are the summit
of London gardening obsession. The Chelsea
Physic Garden has non-native species, thanks
to the microclimate created by its proximity
to the Thames. The Geffrye Museum Gardens
show the evolution of the landscaping along
half a millennium.
• Londoners give great importance to their parks.
The most important ones are appointed “Royal
Parks” and are administered by the Royal Parks
office. Among them, Hyde Park, Richmond, Kens-
