• It is advisable to purchase the London Pass card
to visit the city places of interest and take tours
on the Thames. It allows you to avoid making
line at each location. It is s valid for the date of
purchase, if it is bought on a day at 8 pm; the
pass expires in 4 hours.
• London has one of the best public transport sys-
tem, with its traditional black cabs and the red
double-decker buses. The London Travelcard al-
lows you unlimited use of the metro (“the tube”),
buses, trams, the Dockland Light Rail, surface
trains and the National Railway between zones
1-6. If purchased for 6 days, the 7th day is free.
• There are ATM machines in shopping centers,
shops, banks and sidewalks where you can get
cash in Euros or Pounds Sterling. Being one of
the financial capitals of the world, it has all
services that any traveler might need in this
area. All major credit cards are accepted al-
most everywhere.
• London prides itself of having many specialized
restaurants with dishes from around the world.
Mainly from Italy, France, Spain and India, but
the proud British cuisine clearly dominates. A
walk through downtown will be enough to find
all kind of fresh produce and ingredients. You can
get as sophisticated as you want.
• London’s climate is quite unpredictable, with
sudden changes. You might need in any sea-
son an umbrella and sunglasses on the same
day. However, fluctuations are not extreme as
to cancel plans due to weather. The high tour-
ist season is during July and August, when the
temperature is warmer.

• Es muy conveniente adquirir la tarjeta London Pass
para visitar sitios de interés y hacer tours por el Táme-
sis, pues evita hacer fila para entrar a cada lugar. Su
validez se contabiliza por fecha a partir de su compra,
así que si es adquirida un día a las 8 de la noche, esa
fecha se vence en 4 horas.
• Londres es una de las ciudades con mejor sistema de
transporte público. Son tradicionales sus taxis negros
y sus autobuses rojos de dos pisos. La London Travel-
card permite el uso ilimitado del metro (“the tube”),
autobuses, tranvías, el tren ligero de Dockland, trenes
de superficie y el Servicio Nacional de Trenes entre las
zonas 1 a 6. Si se compra para 6 días, el 7o es gratis.
• En los centros comerciales, las tiendas, los bancos y
las aceras hay cajeros automáticos en los que puede
disponer de efectivo en Euros o Libras Esterlinas. Al
ser una de las capitales financieras del mundo, cuenta
con los servicios que cualquier viajero pudiera necesi-
tar en esta área. Prácticamente en cualquier lugar son
aceptadas las principales tarjetas de crédito y débito.
• Londres se ufana de tener restaurantes especiaizados
en platillos de todo el mundo, principalmente de Italia,
Francia, España e India, pero domina laorgullosa gas-
tronomía netamente británica. Una caminata por el
centro será suficiente para encontrar también tiendas
de comestibles frescos, con ingredientes y productos
tan sofisticados como se quiera.
•El clima de Londres es bastante impredecible, con cam-
bios bruscos. En cualquier época del año podría nece-
sitar un paraguas y unos lentes para el sol el mismo
día. Sin embargo, las fluctuacones no son extremas
como para cancelar los planes debido al clima. Los
meses más visitados por elturismo son julio y agosto,
cuando la temperatura es más cálida.
