Day 4
The fourth day was very nice and different. Af-
ter being isolated, we visited Puerto Ayora on Santa
Cruz Island. First we went by bus to the top of the
island, where vegetation is abundant; then, we rode
through a lava tunnel and went to visit a tortoise
reserve. The size of these animals is impressive.
In the afternoon, after visiting the Charles Darwin
Research Station, we walked among the shops and
cafes of the Port. It was strange feeling returning to
civilization and we missed the solitude of the seas
and the company of birds.
Día 4
El cuarto día fue muy lindo y también distinto, ya
que después de estar aislados visitamos Puerto Ayora
en la Isla de Santa Cruz. Primero subimos en autobús
a la parte alta de la isla, donde la vegetación es muy
abundante, después recorrimos un túnel de lava y
fuimos a visitar una reserva de tortugas terrestres,
cuyo tamaño nos impresionó. Por la tarde, tras visitar
la Estación Científica Charles Darwin, paseamos entre
las tiendas y los cafés del Puerto. Fue extraño el senti-
miento de volver a la civilización y extrañamos la sole-
dad de los mares y la compañía de las aves.
