Estas fotografías son un golpe contra nuestra suposi-
ción de lo real porque, irónicamente, la imagen foto-
gráfica alcanza una verosimilitud que la realidad no
logra obtener. Nos viene a la mente la sentencia de
Joan Fontcuberta: “Toda fotografía es una ficción que
se presenta como verdadera”.
Pero volvamos a las reflexiones del tiempo, la
memoria y el origen, evocados en las fotografías de
Hiroshi Sugimoto. En la serie
Seascapes
(1980-
2003): “Pensaba en la impresión humana más anti-
gua. El tiempo en que el primer hombre nombró el
mundo que le rodeaba, el mar”, apunta el fotógrafo.
