l arte contemporáneo y moderno consagrado,
con un explosivo programa conceptual o en cons-
tante renovación es lo que podrá admirar en el
Guggenheim de la capital alemana, al igual que en sus
pares de Nueva York, Las Vegas, Venecia o Bilbao.
El edificio
Unter den Linden
fue construido en los
años 20 por el arquitecto estadounidense Richard
Gluckman, quien diseñó el
hall
principal en una
superficie de 510 metros cuadrados, con una pureza
simple de los espacios.
De hecho, las imponentes dimensiones del
hall
central han permitido programar varias instalaciones
simultáneas, cada una centrada en temas particula-
res, así como desplegar las tareas de grupos de tra-
bajo, creados por distintos artistas.
Por lo regular, el
Deutsche Guggenheim
alberga
entre tres y cuatro exhibiciones al año, muchas de
las cuales son instalaciones especialmente encarga-
das a un artista de renombre.
Cabe destacar que a la nutrida colección de la red
Guggenheim, el banco (Deutsche Bank, uno de los
socios) sumó su concepto
Art at Work
, que desde 1979
ha acumulado más de 50 mil obras de arte, especial-
mente trabajos contemporáneos sobre papel.
El edificio fue reciclado a mediados del siglo
pasado por el arquitecto berlinés Benedict Tonon, en
tanto que la remodelación de sus interiores quedó en
manos del francés André Putman, que caracterizó su
diseño en formas tan austeras como distintivas.
Como dice la leyenda, un Guggenheim en constante
movimiento que no debe dejar de visitar.

The “Under den Linden” building was con-
structed in the 1920´
s by the American Architect
“Richard Gluckman”, who designed the main hall
in an area of 510 square meters, with simple
purity of spaces.
In fact, the imposing dimensions of the main hall
had allowed to program several simultaneous art
installations, each one centered on particular
themes, as well as unfolding the themes in work
groups, created by different artists.
Regular basis, The Deutsche Guggenheim lodges
between three or four exhibitions per year, many of
which are installations especially as to an artist of
great reputation.
It is possible to emphasize the well natured collec-
tion of the Guggenheim network, the bank (Deutsche
Bank, one of thepartners) addhis concept “Art atWork”,
that since 1979 have accumulated more than 50 thou-
sand art pieces, specially contemporary paperworks.
The building was recycled in the half of the last
century by the German architect Benedict Tonon,
where as the remodeling of its interiors were into the
hands of the French André Putman, that characterize
his design in austere as in distinguishing forms. Like
the legend told us, a Guggenheim in constant change
that you should never skip visiting.
