La Fortaleza Ehrenbreitstein y el Castillo
Stolzenfels en la ciudad de Coblenza, son parte
del patrimonio del alto Valle del Rhin Central.
Cuatro montañas de mediana altura enmarcan la
ciudad del Rhin y Moselle, que está rodeada en
dos terceras partes de bosques, superficies
verdes y agua.
La capital de la región es la ciudad de Mainz
(Maguncia), en donde es posible apreciar la
arquitectura gótica y embarcarse también en los
tours en bote por el Rhin.
En esta región central del Valle, entre las ciu-
dades de Worms, Bingen, Alzey y Mainz, se en-
cuentran los más hermosos castillos y palacios
que adornan la ribera.
En este recorrido por el río puede visitarse la
Roca de la Loreley, inspirada en la leyenda que hizo
famosa el poeta Heinrich Heine, la cual cuenta que
la Loreley -una especie de sirena-, era una hermosa
mujer rubia que seducía a los navegantes del Rhin y
los llevaba a la perdición cuando ella cantaba sobre
la roca que hoy día lleva su nombre.
La ciudad de Wiesbaden es también un centro
histórico de la región. Aunque es la capital del esta-
do contiguo de Hesse, la cercanía de esta elegante
ciudad a la zona central del Valle la convierte en una
opción muy cómoda para los visitantes.
Wiesbaden, como su nombre lo indica, debe
su fama a sus numerosas fuentes termales. El
punto central y emblemático de la ciudad es el
edificio del balneario Kurhaus, con su elegante
casino y construido en 1907, por órdenes del
emperador Guillermo II.

Wiesbaden, as its name says so, owes its fame to
its numerous thermal fountains. The central and
emblematic point of the city is the building of the
Kurhaus spa, with its elegant casino and built in
1907, by orders of the emperor William II.
