Forged by a Giant Impact
C
on MOONMACHINE, el relojero finlandés Ste-
pan Sarpaneva llevó un HM3 Frog, lo confi-
guró y transformó con sus icónicos carátula
e indicador de fase lunares sobre un brillante firma-
mento de estrellas del norte.
Antes de lanzar su propia marca, Sarpaneva
Watches en 2003, Stepan Sarpaneva trabajó con
algunas de las más prestigiadas marcas suizas: Pia-
get, Parmigiani –al lado de Kari Voutilainen–, Vian-
ney Halter y Christophe Claret.
“Stepan tiene un sentido increíble del diseño y

Los tres temas “Signature” de Stepan son celes-
tiales: su muy distintiva carátula de Luna; las estre-
llas y constelaciones del norte; y la forma almenada
de su caja Korona –en referencia a la corona de plas-
ma del Sol–, y todos fueron incorporados a MOON-
MACHINE. Las dos caras de luna de Sarpaneva indican
las fases lunares a través de una abertura en forma
de
Korona
, mientras el rotor de cuerda misterioso
realmente es un disco de oro de 22k azulado con es-
trellas perforadas con laser que forman las estrellas
y constelaciones visibles en el cielo del norte.

cially configured HM3 Frog and trans-
formed it with his iconic moon-face moon-phase
indicator set in a scintillating firmament of north-
ern stars.

Stepan’s three signature themes are all celestial:
his distinctive moon face; the northern stars and con-
stellations; and the crenellated form of his Korona
case –korona, the plasma atmosphere of the Sun– and
all three have been incorporated in MOONMACHINE.
Sarpaneva's two moon faces indicate the phase of the
moon through a Korona shaped aperture, while the
mysterywinding rotor is actually a blued22kgolddisc
with laser-pierced stars forming stars and constella-
tions visible in thenorthern sky.
