The Maiden Tower
It can be admired as its builder, Masud Ibn Davud,
did in the 12th century. The Tower’s origin dates
back to Neolithic times. Researchers suggest that
the original structure was hollow, and probably
used for liturgical purposes. The current building
reaches a height of 29.5 meters, with a base diam-
eter of 16.5 meters. It is a national landmark, and
the central theme of countless legends.
La Torre de la Doncella
Tal como se puede observar actualmente fue cons-
truida por Masud Ibn Davud, en el siglo XII. El origen
de la Torre data del Neolítico. Los investigadores su-
gieren que la estructura original era hueca, probable-
mente usada con fines litúrgicos; la edificación actual
alcanza una altura de 29,5 m, con un diámetro de base
de 16,5 m. Es un emblema nacional, tema central de
profusas leyendas.
