Shyeki, belleza e
historia
En Shyeky hay profusión de mezquitas y sitios de in-
terés histórico. La entrada al pueblo se hace a través
de torres medievales con arcos que muestran en la
lejanía al Cáucaso con sus cimas nevadas. Hay cons-
trucciones de piedra, entre otros edificios cuyas pa-
redes están adornadas con mosaicos artísticamente
dispuestos y ventanas de fina madera labrada, da la
impresión de que el tiempo se ha detenido en el dibujo
de los vitrales, que matizan la luz y la filtran hacia el
interior sobre las paredes y suelos formando figuras
caprichosas. Si deciden alojarse en Shyeki, aprove-
chen la opción de pasar una noche en el hotel Shaki-
Karvansaray, construido como un lugar de paso en la
Ruta de la Seda, pero antes, deben recorrer sus calles
hasta dar con el bosque, que verdaderamente invita a
detener el paso y tenderse sobre la tierra a disfrutar
una paz atemporal y deliciosa.

history
In Shyeki, there exist a copious amount of mosques
and sites of historical interests. To enter the town,
one must pass through medieval towers that give a
clear ideaof justhowfar that Caucasusand itssnowy
peaks are. There, one can also find stone formations
amongst the many buildings adorned with artistic
mosaics, colorful windows, and carved wood. Time
seems to stand still in the drawings of the stained
glass, which filters down into the interiors and unto
to the walls and floors, forming curious figures. If
you decide to stay in Shyeki, take advantage of stay-
ing at the Shaki-Karvansaray hotel, which was first
used as an inn on the Silk Road. Furthermore, take
the time to walk around the streets until you reach
the woods, which will truly take your breath away
and leave you longing to lay on the ground and en-
joy a timeless and delicious sense of peace.
