cupando la Grande Galerie en el Centre Pompi-
dous desde el 5 de mayo hasta el 9 de agosto
del 2010, la exhibición Dreamland reflexiona,
por primera vez, la pregunta de cómo las Ferias Mun-
diales, las exhibiciones internacionales, los parques de
diversiones e instituciones similares han influenciado
ideas sobre la ciudad. Duplicando y reduplicando la re-
alidad, integrando una estética de acumulación y de
collage que frecuentemente se acerca al
kitsch
, estos
cercados mundos paralelos repetidamente ofrecieron
inspiración a las prácticas artísticas, arquitectónicas
y urbanistas del siglo XX, y hasta se podría decir que
han servido como modelos para ciertos desarrollos
contemporáneos.

Pompidou from 5 May to 9 August 2010, the
exhibition Dreamlands considered for the
first time the question of how World’s Fairs, inter-
national exhibitions, theme parks and kindred in-
stitutions have influenced ideas about the city and
the way it is used. Duplicating and reduplicating re-
ality through the creation of replicas, embracing an
aesthetic of accumulation and collage that is often
close to kitsch, these self-enclosed parallel worlds
have frequently afforded inspiration to the artistic,
architectural and urbanistic practices of the twen-
tieth century, and may even be said to have served
as models for certain contemporary constructions.
